I'm going to preface this post by saying, everything with Hudson is great! He's healthy and hasn't made his grand entrance yet. So, last night was very interesting....well, it all started late yesterday afternoon. I was pretty busy at work yesterday, so I was moving around a lot and didn't really stop to focus on whether Hudson was moving around too. It wasn't until about 4:15, that I noticed I hadn't felt him in quite a while and I got a little scared. So, I drank lots of cold water, and really started focusing on him.....and, nothing. At around 4:45, I left the office and tried to call my doctor on the way home...and of course, they turn their phones off at 4:45 exactly!!! Ugh. So, basically I had to page the doctor on-call and she made me head over to Reston Hospital, just to check everything out. (By the time she had called me back I had felt him move, slightly, and had gotten home to Leesburg!!! Perfect timing.) I tried to reassure the doctor that everything was fine, but she insisted that I go. Oh and she also told me not to eat or drink anything else (you know, just in case this baby is coming out tonight) and get there within 30 minutes. But don't worry she says, I'm sure he's fine. (This is NOT my regular doctor, btw.) :) So here comes the Longendyke clan (w/ Sienna in tow) to L&D at Reston. In my mind, I would be there maybe an hour...ha! Well, after about an hour on the heart-rate monitor and apple juice/laying on my side/and many, many ice chips later, he still wasn't responding like they had hoped. So, on to Plan B. Plan B consisted of starting an IV to get me all hydrated AND a bio-physical ultra-sound. My favorite thing in the world is IV's! Haha. I was so not happy about this! I'm a big chicken when it comes to these damn big needles taped to your hand, there HAS to be a better way. Anywho, after a bag of fluids and an hour long u/s, his heart-rate was back to normal and we were given the boot. Thank God! I have been really hoping that this baby would come before March 25th, but I quickly realized last night that I'm not ready for him yet. :)

Shannon, I'm so glad everything is alright! What a scary episode. Hopefully you'll be back in labor and delivery soon to meet little Hudson for real :)
Thank goodness he's okay! The same thing happened to me twice while I was pregnant with Ben. It was scary... I'm glad to hear the little guy is just fine. Hopefully, he will stay in there a little bit longer so you can get prepared. :)
Shannon, that brought back so many memories. Robyn never moved so I was at the doctor's office almost every week. I miss you bunches! Love Rosemary
