This past weekend was filled with fun, fall activities! On Friday afternoon, we took the kids to Pumpkinville in Leesburg, which is also a petting zoo. And on Saturday, Sienna's school had a Fall festival...and it was also my Dad's birthday!
The Pumpkin Patch was a blast. Sienna had fun pointing out all the "scary, pretends." That's what she calls witches, gobblins and anything else that we don't know the name of. :) She started out being very frightened of anything having to do with Halloween, but she is warming up to everything. We took lots of cute pictures, had a blast going down slides, picking pumpkins and drinking apple cider. It was the perfect fall afternoon!
The Goddard's Fall Festival was also fun - although Sienna was really only into the bean bag toss and relay races with her Dad. It definitely wasn't a complete waste - as we got a close-up view of the Griffin family...yep, Cornelious Griffin's (of the Skins...) kids go The Goddard. I was pretty star-struck. :)
So, I should mention that we had a pretty big scare on Thursday afternoon. It all started around lunchtime when The Goddard called my office...never a good sign. They informed me that Sienna had choked on a pretzel at lunchtime and needed the heimlich. At that moment I felt many different emotions. Guilt, for not being there with her. Scared, what happens after someone needs the heimlich? Blessed, that she was alive! After I had settled down a little, I went to Wegmans, picked up a nice plant and a card and went to pick her up early. I knew I had to get her teacher something (she did save her life!), but everything I thought of seemed too small in comparison to what she had just done for my family. After I talked to the teacher for awhile, I learned that it was actually much worse than the Director (who I spoke to on the phone) had led me to believe. As it turns out, she was starting to turn blue and other procedures like the finger swipe had not been successful! All of this information was really heartbreaking for me to hear, but I'm so thankful and blessed that she was in Ms. Sonya's caring hands during all this. I don't know if I would have had the strength to handle it all. Lesson learned: I'm signing up for a Child's First Aid and CPR class...something I said I was going to do 3 years ago when I was pregnant with Sienna.
Here are some of my favorite pictures from the weekend-
Oh, and I chopped my hair Friday. The jury is still out on this cut. I go from hating it to loving it - about 20 times a day.

OK...a few things:
1) I love your hair...you look great. It looks like Scott got his hair cut too..haha
2) HOLY COW about Sienna's little accident. Thank goodness that the teachers at her school knew how to handle her choking...YIKEs
3) We visited the Goddard School last tuesday AM and actually saw Sienna (I forgot to email you!) b/c Chase would be in her class to start b/c he isn't potty trained (he's a few months older...he turns 3 in Dec) she was super-busy playing and having a good time. ;o) We are still deciding when and where to send Chase...I want it to be sooner than later!
