Belated Christmas Post

So sorry about the delayed blog post, but it's been really crazy around here for the last week. We are finally trying to get the house back to normal. All of our decorations are down, but we have no idea on where to put all these toys! We have a playroom in the basement, but it was pretty packed before Santa came! I think a trip to Ikea or The Container Store is in our future! So here is a very brief re-cap of the Holiday festivities...

Christmas Eve -

Scott and I ventured out to Grammy and Grandpa Longendyke's house to open presents and say farewell to Scott's youngest brother, Kevin and girlfriend, Annie. They just moved to California...so jealous! We had such a great time spending time with them before they left. I was actually very sad to see them go, because Sienna has grown really close to Uncle Kevin in the last few weeks. Hopefully, we can visit them this spring! After that, we headed to Sterling to visit Mimi and Pa-Pa Coghlan's house and enjoy our lovely Italian Seafood night. It's an Italian tradition to eat 7 types of seafood on Xmas eve and my Grandmother and Mom put a lot of hard work into this night! Sadly, I don't eat seafood, but I did enjoy some pasta and salad...hehe.

After dinner the kids played a lot and we gathered around to read The Night Before Christmas, also a long running tradition in our family. It was so cute to see Sienna get into the book! The book was actually bought by my Grandfather in 1974, for my sister's first Christmas! He colored the book himself and we've read it as a family ever since!

Christmas Morning & Day-

Sienna was really excited to see that Santa made an appearance! I don't think she understood 100%, but definitely was happy to see all the presents under the tree! Hudson and Sienna were well taken care of this year and are still enjoying their presents! We headed to The Longendyke's for brunch with Scott's Aunt and Uncle and then on to The Coghlan's for another round of presents and Italian food! Ravioli's this time - my kind of meal! All in all, it was such a fabulous two days! I can't wait for Christmas 2009, to see the kids even more excited!

Happy New Year everyone. We wish you all a safe, healthy and fabulous 2009!!!
