So most of you probably know by now that I canceled the Mexico trip and planned a trip to NYC instead. I won't bore you all with the thought process behind it, but I basically chickened out big time. Nevertheless, NYC was a blast! I have really never been colder in all my life, but it was definitely very magical to be in the greatest city during Christmas!
We decided to go from Sunday - Tuesday to get cheaper hotel rates and hopefully avoid some of the crowds (ha!). Here's a breakdown of our trip:
Sunday -
Checked in to the hotel - freshened up and hit the streets. We walked from Chelsea to Soho and went to Dos Caminos Soho for lunch. So yummy! This restaurant had a Sunday Brunch deal where you got a free drink (mimosa!) with the purchase of any brunch item. My kind of place! :) After lunch, we decided to walk around lower Manhattan for a bit, then we took a cab up to Times Square, walked and shopped there, then took a cab to Serendipity 3 - only to find there was a 2 hour wait - ugh! (I should tell you that I wasn't very excited about taking the subway the first day - Scott wanted to, I prefer cabs. Haha. However, he was not too excited about Serendipity and I made a deal with him that if the line was too long, we could take the Subway to the next place. So, that's what we did - and I actually liked the subway! It was pretty clean (for public transportation) and was so fast and easy!) We found a quaint and yummy pizza place near our hotel and went back to the hotel only to waste our time watching the Deadskins. Ugh.
Monday = COLDEST DAY EVER
We started this fun day by standing in line for 1 hour next to the water for a boat to Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty...I'm guessing it was in the teens at this hour! I was convinced that my toes were no longer attached to my feet. We finally boarded the boat and had the best time at Ellis Island! We spent some time researching our ancestors and that was so amazing! The Statue of Liberty was cool, too! However, we got off the boat, went and saw her up close and ran back to the boat. It was too cold!! After all that, we headed to Southern Hospitality (JT's restaurant) for some good ole' southern cooking. :) Monday was even more perfect because we both got to take a nap - which almost never happens! After naps, we headed to Radio City for the Christmas Spectacular. This was such a fantastic show! I felt sort of sad while I was sitting there because I kept thinking of Sienna and how much she'd enjoy it. I can't wait to bring her and Hudson someday soon. After the show, we walked to the Rockefeller tree and all down 5th Avenue. How gorgeous! We ended up at Central Park and decided to take a carriage ride through the Park. This was truly amazing! Being in a dark, quiet, park in the middle of the busiest city in the country is so unreal. We ended the evening with dinner at Tavern on the Green in Central Park...very neat place!
Scott and I on the boat to the Statue of Liberty. Don't you love Scott's beard? (That was me being sarcastic, btw...) :)
A portion of the show was 3-D. Just in case you were wondering about Scott's cool glasses.
The awesome Rockettes. Whatever they get paid - is definitely not enough!

Rockefeller tree!Tuesday -
Had brunch and headed home! We actually caught an earlier bus home because we really missed the kids. :)
What would a blog post be without pictures of the kids? :) Here is Ms. Priss feeding her brother...who will probably be bigger than her in 6 months. I've recently been asked by two seperate people if they are twins! Crazy.
