So I'm going to preface this post by saying that the Coghlan's (and now the Longendyke's) take St. Patrick's Day VERY seriously. Growing up we had a very fun tradition of going to look for leprechaun's on St. Patrick's Day. Leprechauns, if you didn't know, run around in the woods on March 17th and if you catch one, you get a pot of gold! :) My Dad started this tradition when my sister was a toddler (about 32 or so years ago) and now we're re-starting it with Sienna and Hudson! On Tuesday afternoon, my Dad, Scott, my Mom, the kids and me all went to Claude Moore Park in search of the sneaky leprechaun. We were not lucky enough to catch one, but he did leave Sienna a note and a little slice of "gold!"

Side note: Sienna was very reluctant to leave the woods without finding a leprechaun...she was a very determined leprechaun seeker...a true Irish gal. ;)
Funny Story: When I was a little girl, on one random St. Patrick's Day, my Dad took me into the woods to look for a leprechaun. Well, some passerby thought this was a very odd sight (an older man and a little girl, headed into the woods) and called the police. The police arrived and questioned my Dad about what we were doing. And my Dad's answer..."we're looking for leprechauns officer." Haha. The police officer questioned me, asking whether or not this was really my father and whatnot and eventually we were "set free." This has been a long running joke in my family and as we entered the woods last Tuesday, we passed two LoCo cops - I think everyone was a little nervous...haha.

Such a cute post:) I'm glad Sienna had fun looking for the Leprechaun! It will be so much fun when Hudson is running around, too!
What a cute tradition!!! I loved the story about you and your dad...that's crazy!
