Belated Father's Day Post

I know I'm over a week late, but I really want to give a 'big blog post' thanks to all the great Dad's we have in our life!

Our Father's Day weekend started with a small cookout at our house for our families. Scott and I thought it would be nice to get the Dad's (and the Mom's) together on Saturday evening to kick off Father's Day, and it was a fun! We had the traditional cookout food and spent a lot of time just chatting and relaxing - it was perfect, but I unfortunately neglected to take any pictures. Typical.

On the Sunday of Father's Day, I had made big plans to "try" and cook some off Scott's favorite things. Scott is huge banana bread and fried meatball fan (not necessarily together), and I decided to be really ambitious and try to make them both from scratch early Sunday morning. So, I woke up around 6am and started to cook! Well, unfortunately, neither of them turned out perfectly, but he was surprised and appreciated it nonetheless. :) Afterwards, I really wanted to picnic at Algonkian and then take the kids to the pool, but the crappy weather nixed those plans. We ended up taking a drive, grabbing lunch at Rio Grande and then ended the day playing with the kids at the park! It was a great day! Scott is such an amazing father and we are so incredibly blessed to have him in our lives. I couldn't ask for anything more.
