We had a pretty eventful Holiday weekend, but what else is new? Every 4th of July, we try to cram in a trip to Lake Anna and a Reunion cookout with the Coghlan clan, and this year wasn't any different.
We headed down to The Opitz Family Lake House on Friday and stayed until Saturday afternoon. We had such a blast! Honestly, I always approach these trips with very low expectations, just because I never know how the kids are going to behave, nap, sleep, etc...but this could not have gone any smoother. We actually wished we had stayed Saturday night, too! Sienna has officially become a fish. She loves being in the water, especially with her Daddy, and can't get enough of it. She was so talkative all weekend long, as well. It was really shocking to me how much she's come out of her shell - she likes to tell stories and ham it up for large crowds these days. Hudson was a little scared of the water the first day and mainly just stuck to the constructing of sandcastles. Day Two was very different and he cried everytime you took him OUT of the water. :) He was such a sweet boy all weekend and adjusted well to all the new faces. The lake house couldn't be more fun, for kids and adults. Not only did we sit by the water a lot, but we roasted marshmallows by the firepit, had great food and great company! I actually have a ton of pictures of the kids from the weekend, but here are some highlights.
On Sunday afternoon, we had a Coghlan Family Cookout, minus a lot of the Coghlan family. There was soooo much going on this summer in everyone's lives that we had a very tame version of what is normally an eventful and fun Reunion! This was great as well, we ate, talked, chased the kids, and played basketball (not me, of course)! I saw cousins that I hadn't seen in forever and as always, the food was to die for! :)
