Easter weekend weather could not have been more perfect! For some reason, I always feel like it's overcast and rainy on Easter, so this was a welcomed surprise for me. We started our Easter festivities Friday afternoon with some egg deorating, and Sienna was really the one who was in to it. After Hudson spilled the entire cup of green dye, he was reassigned to the couch for Dora for a few minutes - he was okay with this - he prefers his girl, Dora, to just about anything. Anyways, Sienna loved the egg decorating, of course. :)
Working so hard on her eggs!

Friday evening, Scott and I snuck in a date dinner at Sweetwater. We sat outside, enjoyed the good food, the weather and it was perfect!
Saturday afternoon began our Easter celebration with The Longendyke's. The kids got great baskets, had a blast on their egg hunt on the lawn, and enjoyed a picnic lunch with their cousin, Brooke. It was a great afternoon - and I have to say, it was so nice to split up the days so we weren't crazy busy on Easter Sunday.

Not a whole lot of eating got done here. ;)
When we got home Saturday afternoon, I got some really depressing news...I wasn't accepted into the Online Nursing program at Nova. More on this later...
Easter Sunday was perfect and so peaceful. We started the morning with baskets and our own little egg hunt, indoors. We then headed to a new church (well, this was our second time) in Ashburn. It was such a great service and the kids (Hudson) were somewhat well-behaved! Panera followed church, of course and then it was home to rest- well except for Sienna and Scott. Scott took Sienna on an "adventure" and they hiked down to the Potomac from a trail in Leesburg. Scott loves to hike, often goes on hikes with his buddies, but had never taken Sienna before. Well, I definitely think this won't be the last time. :) Although he said she did complain a little that her legs were tired (it was almost 2 miles), she also told him, without being prompted, "thank you for taking me on my adventure, Daddy - this was the best adventure I've ever been on!!!" So cute - I wish I could've been with them, but I enjoyed the time with the boys and I think their special Daddy/Daughter time was well-deserved. After the hike and while the boys napped, we had a little showing of Princess and the Frog (thank you, Easter Bunny!) and then got ready for our dinner OUT with the Coghlan clan! We headed down to Tysons to have Easter dinner at PF Changs - and boy, was it delicious! It was so nice to change things up a bit and have an Asian inspired Easter - maybe we can make this a tradition?! ;) After dinner, it was back to Sterling for our 3rd and final egg hunt and basket opening! All in all, it was the most perfect Easter weekend - great weather, great food, great company and lots of fun. Now, if I could just get all of these PEEPS out of my house...

Glad you had a great Easter weekend! I love all of Sienna's facial expressions in the Easter basket pictures - looks like the Easter Bunny was good them:)
