Hello Twenty Eleven

Nothing says Happy New Year like the most awful stomach-flu attacking the girls of the house AND $55 in copays AND $20 in medications.  Lovely.  Well, we are on the up and up (I think) and hoping that the rest of the year is nothing like the first 6 days!

I decided to do a blog post of my new years resolutions this year.  I'm not a huge resolution person tpically, but for some reason, I have a lot of things I want to work on this year.  And by making them known to friends and family, it helps me think it'll keep me on track a little better.  ;)

Resolution #1:  Lose the weight.  Period.
No excuses.  No more babies are coming out of this body.  It's time.  2011 is the year I reach my goal weight.  Hopefully by May...

Resolution #2:  Spend more time with my kids.
I've got a busy life, sure.  But don't we all?  I'm always "around" my kids, but am I really there?  I want to get on the floor and play with them more.  Play doctor with Sienna, race trains with Hudson, toss balls with Noah - these are the things I need to spend my spare time doing...which leads me to the next resolution...

Resolution #3:  Put down the crackberry.  Uh, I mean blackberry.
I'm obsessed with communication.  I love it.  I love responding to emails and texts in a timely manner - it makes me happy.  I love reading blogs throughout the day.  I love checking facebook and twitter updates.  I love reading Perez Hilton on my phone.  I can't give this up cold-turkey, but I need to do a better job at slowing this down.  There are way more important things going on in my home and life then whatever is on my blackberry.

Resolution #4:  Stop shopping at Wegmans.
Wegmans is evil.  I spend too much money in there.  This leads me to the next resolution...

Resolution #5:  Watch where our money goes.
I'm going to meal plan every Sunday, so I know what I need at the store (Bloom or Giant, fyi) and not buy $100 worth of fruit, snacks and only enough ingredients for 1 meal.  I'm going to stop buying the kids McDonalds just because we're out and I don't feel like making them lunch.  I'm going to cancel HBO - who has the time?  (Although that new show about the Washington Capitals was pretty cool!)  I'm going to seriously look for coupons before I shop every Sunday.

Resolution #6:  Do my BSF work like it's intended...every.single.day.
It would seriously take me 20 minutes to do a few questions a day.  That's completely reasonable and I have the time...I do.  I've already started and completed Day 1 of this week's lesson.  Woohoo!

There you have it.  It feels soooo good to get that off my chest!  :)
