We'll continue on with the birthday themed posts and move to Sienna! Sienna turned 5 on 4/18, and I just can't believe it. She's 1/2 a decade old....that's nuts. I feel like we celebrated her birthday for a whole week - wait a second - we did! Due to Spring Break falling the week of her birthday, we decided to plan her big birthday blowout on April 13th. We celebrated at Pump-It-Up, where Sienna and 25 of her closest friends bounced, climbed, slid and got nice and worn out for 2 hours. It was such a successful party and I really think it may become a tradition. Of course you pay an arm and a leg, but they do ALL the work, and best part...I don't have to clean my house. Ha! The Friday following her party, Scott, Hudson and myself went to her school to read 2 of her favorite books to the class. Her school is pretty on top of the allergy issues that some kids have, so there was no birthday cupcakes or anything like that...which is really fine by me. I love the book idea and Sienna was on cloud 9 to have us all there. We read an Olivia story and the story of Easter to her class. She was so proud because she can actually read some of the Easter book and she did so in front of all her friends. :) On her actual birthday, our immediate families all celebrated at....wait for it....McDonald's! This was her #1 choice and she wasn't backing down, so that's where we partied. It was lovely, actually, and most importantly, she was in Heaven. Here are some pictures of the 2 parties. Picture overload warning. Picture overload warning.
- She really is a little bit of everything. She can be quiet and shy, yet loud and outgoing. She can be sweet and kind, yet attitudey (?) and diva-like. She can be laid-back, yet competitive. Get my drift? I've seen it all with this girl and I LOVE that about her.
- This year she has done swimming lessons and just recently started T-ball. She's loved both, although quite reserved around the water.
- She is very protective of her brothers. She is their 2nd Mom and on top of everything where they are concerned.
- She's not too picky about clothes, but an extremely picky eater. Although, in her defense she has gotten so much better about trying new things. She may gag violently for 30 seconds, but she tries it!
- Her favorite things right now are her Leapster 2, Tag reading system, her precious Cabbage Patch doll - Carla, watching movies playing with barbies/dolls, coloring, playing pretend or doctor and learning anything new.
- She is reading, kind of. She starts to sound out words that she doesn't know and has some words that she knows well! We're really having to watch our language in the house now. No more spelling curse words for us.
- She loves Math. Scott and I give her practices tests (at her request) of about 10 addition and subtraction questions and she does great at it! It's adorable and fascinating.
- She still loves learning about Jesus, God and any other bible story that she can get her hands on. I'm very sad that she won't be part of BSF next year, but so proud of all that she's learned. I pray that she continues to build on the very strong foundation they have provided her with.
- She will be entering Kindergarten in the Fall and when I told her she is going to be riding the bus, she said "Oh please don't make me do that." Haha.
- She is the HAPPIEST when she's singing and dancing. If there is a Glee club at her HS, she will be Rachel Berry. (Not sure where she'll get the voice from...)
- She can remember song lyrics well and quickly.

Great post about Sienna, Shan! I must admit, I was tearing up a little reading about all the big kid things she's doing now - reading, math, protecting her little brothers (where did baby Sienna / the time go?) She is such a terrific little girl, and I know she will continue to make us all proud! Hugs to my favorite 5 year old:) xoxo
Great post Shannon. For some reason, I started tearing up too! Sienna is such a beautiful, wonderful girl and she always looks so happy! And why wouldn't she be with such a great family that loves her. By the way...I so want a soft serve cone from McD's right now!
Aww I can't believe our girls have been around five whole years!! (well almost for Ava :) ) I love the update on what she's doing and seeing how unique each of these little people become :)
What a sweet girl and a smart cookie!! She sounds like you Shannon!!
