The whirlwind that was June - part 1.

Looking back at my last post on June 1, I had no idea what I was in for for the next 30 days.  Let's see, it went a little like this...we celebrated our 6th anniversary, watched Sienna graduate from preschool, watched Hudson finish his first season of soccer, watched Sienna (and Scott!) finish their first t-ball season, threw a surprise Retirement party for mother-in-law, Barbara, worked 1, 40 hour work week, celebrated Father's Day, worked another 40 hour work week, traveled to Philadelphia to visit family, and finally, we helped moved our in-laws out of their old house and into our house!  I'm leaving out about 15 sessions of crying and giving friends an earful of how stressed I am, but I think you get the point.  It.was.nuts!  Busiest month of my life to date.

To blog about all of that in one post would be nuts, so I'm going to break it up into 2 posts and you'll just have to wait on the edge of your seat for the rest.  :)

Sienna finished her first (and only) year of preschool on our 6 year anniversary.  Big day for us.  She did such a great job at school this year and we are so pleased with everything that she learned.  Her teachers were so kind, loving and caring and all of the kids in the class were sooooo goood.  It was really weird - how well behaved this group was.  :)  On their last day, they celebrated with an ice cream party and an extended recess on the playground and her brothers even got to join in on the fun!  Sienna is pumped about starting kindergarten in the Fall and she's really excited about riding the bus with no seatbelts.  :)  I can't wait to see what kind of girl she will develop into and what she will learn this upcoming year....she's always surprising us!

Miss Tascha...one of the sweetest teachers I've ever met.

Miss Adell - so sweet!

Hudson had a great 1st season of soccer!  He didn't have a problem going into the class (most of the time) and really enjoyed all the cute toddler games they play in 3year old soccer.  Sadly, most of the pictures I took are on my blackberry and since I don't use that phone anymore, I'm not sure how to get them out of there.  He was cute though...I promise.

Sienna and Scott participated in T-ball through CLLL this year.  Sienna being the player and Scott being the best head coach ever.  We quickly learned that T-ball is a BIG committment.  It felt like it was a big part of our lives for 3 months.  If you asked Sienna if she liked playing, she would give you an enthustiatic "yes!" But then when it was time to play a game, she would fess up that she liked practices better because they didn't last as long.  ;)  She got soooo much better at hitting towards the end of the season and LOVED playing pitcher because she got to stand on the mound...hehehe.  Hudson got to warm up with the kids for a couple of the games and boy, did he fall in love.  I'm not sure what to do with Hud and this sport.  He's going to love it and since it's such a big committment, I'm thinking we can wait a few more years to really start.  I see all these other Mom's with boys in t-ball, coach pitch, etc., and their Saturday's are packed!!  I'm not quite ready for all that - so we may put it off for a few years for him.  We'll see though - talk to us next Spring when he's begging to play.

Proud little brother.

Some love for the best Dad/Coah ever.

Both sets of our parents are now retired!  How cool is that??  They are both such great role models of how to handle money and be secure in your future - so I really pray Scott and I can be as blessed as they have been.  A few months back, I collaborated with one of Barbara's best friends and started to plan a surprise retirement party for her and her friends/family.  Barbara shares my love of wine, so I thought it would be best to rent a bus and take her Loudoun County's wine country for the day.  It.was.a.blast.  She was so surprised, we had great weather and the company was fabulous.  I couldn't have asked for a better day to celebrate this milestone in her life.

Noah wanted to come, too.

Great pics of Sienna! Sooo cute! And you survived a crazzzzy month - congrats!! I know it wasn't easy, but what a big accomplishment to have put in all those hours nursing and still managed to do all the other million things you do :)

What a great month for Sienna! I can't believe all the running around you do, while going to school and working! Yay, for Barbara's retirement - that was really sweet of you to plan such a fun event to celebrate her:)
