Out with the Old...In with the New

We started the new year off trying 2 new things!  A+ for us in the adventurous category.

We ventured down to Arlington to catch a glimpse of our Washington Capitals holding practice at the Kettler Iceplex.  The kids seemed to really like it when they could stand right in front of the glass, but they lost a little steam when they had to sit in the bleachers after they got reprimanded by a employee. Oh well, it killed a good 3 hours of our morning, and we got to see Ovechkin score an awesome goal.  Everyone wins.  Sometime in mid-December, Scott emailed Ted Leonsis to inquire about why Capitals tickets were so expensive and that he would really enjoy taking his family of 5 to a game sometime, but we can't afford it.  Haha.  Supposedly he is supposed to respond within 24 hours and while we wait for that reponse, I think we'll just continue to go to the practices...just not on government holidays or when the kids are off school.  :)

My handsome boys.

Watching them stretch.

As close as were ever gonna get to Ovechkin.

Today, my Grandmother and Mom treated Sienna and I to a wonderful day out at The American Girl store in Tysons.  It was truly magical...for both of us.  We shopped, we ate and then we shopped some more.  Everything was so precisely well-done and not a single detail was overlooked.  I loved it and loved the magical sparkle in Sienna's eyes for the entire 2.5 hours we were there!  It's definitely pricey, but such a wonderful treat for every once in a while.  I'm so grateful to them for arranging this - as Sienna (and she likes to make sure we know that Rapunzel says this in Tangled, too) said..."this is the best day everrrrrr!"

My beautiful and generous Mom and Grandmother.

Me, Sienna and Emily.

"Here Emily, have a curly fry."  (Btw, at The American Girl store, these aren't really dolls...they are real people.)

Mid-lunch, model pose.  Naturally.

Excited for Emily to go to the spa!  No joke.

Emily got her ears pierced!  (She didn't cry!)  And her hair did.  Boy, I wish I was Emily...

Emily and her proud Mama.
