Nothing screams "I'm Irish" more than pale skinned, blue eyed, freckly faced kids...and adults for that matter. :)
(My Dad and our 3 little leprechauns)
Most people know this, but I'm actually half Italian and half Irish. Shocking, I know. I mostly feel Italian on the inside and Irish on the outside. I think that's just the way it is when you grow up with an 100% Italian mother - it becomes the more dominant side for some reason. I'm in love with the Italian culture (as in the real Italy, not the Jersey Shore) and could move to Florence in.a.heartbeat. With that being said, I love that I'm also Irish! I'm pretty sure I got the best of both worlds. I would love to visit Ireland one day and I cherish this Saint Patrick's Day tradition so much. I'm blessed to have loving parents that taught me such awesome things about both of their backgrounds. It's definitely something I strive to pass along to my kids.
We set out to the woods again this year in search of that tiny, sneaky, fast leprechaun and once again, we missed him! The kids are getting way more into it and it's actually kind of sad because Sienna realllllly hoped to catch him this year. Haha. She was a little disappointed when we had to finally give up, but the note and the $2 he left definitely put a smile on her face. On the way home, her and Hudson were already devising a plan to DEFINITELY catch him next year. :) Can't wait to see Noah in on that action. Speaking of the boys, they are getting much more into it, too! Hudson was yelling for him a lot and Noah thought it was hysterical every time my Dad would run randomly around the woods looking for that leprechaun. Great memories were made yet again. :)
Side note: Sienna was less than thrilled with the mocking tone of the leprechaun. :)

Such a cute tradition! I can totally see Sienna being annoyed with the Leprechaun's tone. Hopefully next year they catch the little bugger;)
I love it! What a great memory for them :) and the notes from "him" - how sweet! I'm sure they were super ticked they didn't catch him.
