My spring break from school was last week and my Mom and I, along with Sienna and Hudson, decided to head south for a few days. We were hoping for some good quality time with my grandmother, some good food and shopping and a little R & R in the warm SC sun. Definitely a success!
My Dad, Scott and Scott's parents all took turns taking care of Noah throughout the 5 days and I am so grateful that he was in such great hands while we were gone. From what I heard he was a very good boy and so happy! Guess he didn't miss me too much. ;) I'm constantly reminded of how driving to Myrtle with a 3 and a 5 year old is not the smartest thing to do, but once we get there and see my Grandmother sooo happy to be with her great-grandchildren...well, it's worth it. The trip started off rocky - Sienna was in tears as we parted from Scott and Noah and Hudson whined basically the whole way down about how he wanted to go back home to play basketball. We then tried to distract his attention from basketball by telling him about putt-putt, and THAT was a mistake. He then talked about basketball and golf all the way down 95 Haha. The ride home was much better, because at least this time the children slept some...thank goodness!
While we were there we...
- Did a lot of shopping.
- Ate out a lot.
- Played putt-putt...of course!
- Went to the beach. Played in the sand, did handstands and played soccer. :)
- Enjoyed some of my Grandmother's great cooking.
- Took the kids to their first Ash Wednesday mass to receive ashes and LOVED my Grandmother's church.
- Got a lot of quality time with Grandmother, my Mom and Sienna and Hudson!
Spring Break is almost over - just one more day. Sigh. I'm excited however to get this first year over with! I'm just 8 weeks out from being halfway done with this program and I'm so excited, I can't stand it. Annnnd, it definitely helps that these last 8 weeks are going to be spent watching babies be welcomed into this world. Does it get any better than that? :)
In other news, Sienna is giving up french fries for Lent and I'm giving up chocolate. Standby for how that goes...not going to be pretty. :) Last year I gave up soda and it was the longest 40 days of my life. I think this may be a little easier, but not much.

Sounds like you had a nice Spring Break! Hudson is so funny with his sports - maybe he'll be the next Phil Mickelson (I was going to say Tiger Woods). I also can't get over how grown-up Sienna looks in all the pictures! It seems like just yesterday she was the baby:(
Great pictures Shannon, hope you had an amazing time in Myrtle!
