Our Easter

Better late than never, right?

The Saturday before Easter, we headed out to The Historic Long Branch Annual Easter Egg hunt with some of our friends.  They had gotten married there and have since participated in many of their annual events.  It was a blast.  The kids had fun picking up eggs, jumping on moon bounces, and going on tractor rides.  The weather was beautiful!  After the hunt, we headed back to our friends home, on a farm!, and the kids had a chance to play and we got some amazing takeout BBQ!  It was so cool for the kids to spend the whole day outside, playing in the back of pick-up trucks, taking care of sick cows (seriously!), and just running around being crazy.  It was quite the perfect day.  I can't remember a time where I felt soooo far away from the hustle and bustle of NoVa...if you would've told me I had been transported to Montana for the day, I would've believed you.  :)

Aside from taking care of our burn victim, we actually had a lovely Easter day celebrating Christ's resurrection!  We had to jet out of mass early because of "the situation," but the parts we were present for were actually very fulfilling and meaningful to us.  That is pretty much a rare occasion because between passing out crayons, crackers, sippy's and "you're going to get your hiney spanked!," we leave church wondering what the heck just happened, 99% of the time.

After Mass we celebrated with Scott's family who hosted everyone for Easter brunch.  Yummy food, lots of photo-ops, and an Easter egg hunt make for a perfect morning.

After naps, we headed to Sterling for an Easter egg hunt with my parents and for a lot of spoiling with very full Easter baskets!  We then continued the tradition of eating dinner out on Easter for the 2nd year in a row.  Last year was PF Changs, this year was Bonefish!  So good.  Love it!
