We decided to change things up a bit this year and headed north to Lewes, DE for a Coghlan/Longendyke family vacation. We rented an amazing house right on the Deleware Bay and had way too much fun. Seriously...best.vacation.ever. This was the first year that my parents, my sister and nephew, and Scott's parents all shared one roof and in my opinion, it went great!! Everyone got along well and we had a lot of fun with each other. My Aunt Pat also hung with us for a few days at the beginning of the week and then at the end of the week Jayme and Brooke joined us!
The week was filled with playtime in the sand and water, go-kart riding, awesome adventures at FunLand in Rehoboth, yummy meals, kite flying, LOTS of pizza (Grotto's, of course), ice cream eating, fishing/crabbing, shopping and the best of all family-time playing Mad Gab.
No question, Sienna loves the sand and water. Hudson prefers the sand. And Noah prefers to be held on the beach....which is perfect for the 100 degree temps. Scott and I even snuck out 2 days during the kids nap time for some relaxing on the beach. That was heaven. I think I may have even fallen asleep reading on the beach. I'm pretty sure I didn't think this would happen until I was 50.
Handsome boy.
Sienna LOVES the sand.
Haha - Noah and Daddy chilling in the Bay.
Funland was fun for the kids and the adults! Sienna and I rode this Freefall ride a handful of times and it was so fun. It brought you up pretty far in the air and then dropped you very quickly - over and over again. It was the kind of ride that made you feel like your stomach was constantly in your throat. Girlfriend was not scared at all and loved every second of it. Me, Jayme, Scott, Vicki and Chris even rode the Sea Dragon together....I haven't done that in years! We had so much fun feeling like kids again. Sienna even wanted to ride the Gravitron (remember this ride - the one that makes you stick to the wall?)....she was tall enough (isn't that strange?), but I wouldn't let her. Truthfully, I didn't want to get on it myself. Ha.
Doesn't he look so grown up here?
We divided up the dinner meals between the families and that worked out perfect. Scott and I had American night and made hamburgers, hot dogs, corn on the cob and potato salad. Best meal of the week. Hehe - just kidding. 2 nights during the week we stayed up late playing Mad Gab...it was so much fun. Here's a little video of one of the nights. I was videoing and I couldn't keep the camera still because I was just about to pee my pants. Oh and I have no idea how to actually get a video to appear in the blog.

Lewes holds a special place in my heart because I spent a lot of time there while I was growing up. My Dad and his brothers and sisters used to own a condo right on the bay and I have the best memories of that place. It was such a special week filled with great memories and I hope we get to do it again soon. :)
Not great - but it'll work.
Cousins + Ice cream = fun!
Beach Bingo.
Jayme and Brooke.

Love all the pictures from your trip! Looks like you all had a fabulous time. That's really great that you had both families there, and you and Scott got to relax on the beach (and even nap)! :)
Looks like so much fun! I can't believe Sienna was tall enough for the grafitron. I'm with you. That thing scares me. We did all of the same rides!!
