February came and went so quickly that I can't even remember what we did! We had some friends over for the Superbowl, celebrated my nephew's 16th birthday (which makes me feel incredibly old!), and had a very fun night out in DC for Valentine's day (and also celebrating a friend's birthday while we were there!). Of course, I have no pictures of any of this, so you're just going to have to take my word for it.
School is blah. I have 15 days left and it's creeping by. I finished up my precetorship on a Mother/Baby unit at the end of February and I LOVED every second of it. It was such an amazing opportunity and I think I finally found the reason why I went to school in the first place. Now I'm just a praying for a job on this unit! Now, I'm back in regular clinicals on Medical/Surgical/Renal floor and while it's interesting and busy, it's not my cup of tea. :/ In other news, I was able to spend a half day in the OR in March, and surprisngly, I loved it. I mean loved it so much that I could see myself doing it - for real. It's a very precise, controlled environment and that really appeals to me. Plus you can't beat the hours - like real hours...not vampire hours. So, we shall see. I've been praying a lot for God to reveal or guide me in the direction of nursing that will make me the happiest and fulfill me the most. There are 585 different ways to be a nurse and it can all be so confusing at times!
March proved to be very busy for us and every weekend was pretty packed with little adventures. Of course we celebrated St. Patrick's Day in true Coghlan/Irish fashion....by hunting down leprechauns in local woods. This little adventure is starting to get a little tough to watch, because Sienna and Hudson plotted for a good month on how they were going to catch these little suckers. Naturally, they didn't catch them and it was heartbreaking to watch them be disappointed. In true leprechaun fashion, they left the kids a note and $3, which helps make up for the heartbreak. :)
On the night of March 17th, we celebrated the wedding of my one of my oldest gymnastics friends, Shandiz. I've known her since she was about 2 and we've been close almost our whole lives! She was a gorgeous bride and the wedding was so much fun!
Hudson celebrated his 4th birthday the following weekend and we had a great day celebrating him. He got to plan out his day and it was a blast! Donuts for breakfast, scooter/bike race after lunch, putt-putt and lots of pasta and bread at Macaroni Grill for dinner! He is such a sweet, quiet, handsome little guy and making me so proud as he continues to grow. He's very much into super heros and got quite a lot of masks, swords, etc. for presents. He's very close to Sienna, still, and often asks every morning if she HAS to go to school today. So sweet. He's doing swimming, gymnastics and basketball right now. He just graduated to Level 3 in Swim school (so we are so relieved that he's making progress!) and basketball has just begun, so we'll see how that plays out. His 4 year old check-up could not have gone any smoother. He got 2 shots, a finger stick, a hearing/vision test, AND had to pee in a cup and didn't even put up a fight for any of it. A little bit of a change from Sienna's 4 year old check up....hehe. He got a clean bill of health and is all ready for preschool in the fall. :)
Stay tuned for S&H's party update, Sienna's new "do," Easter adventures and Sienna's 6th birthday. I told you I was behind....
